This year we will be partnering again with Samaritan’s Purse in their initiative Operation Christmas Child.
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to show God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Since 1993, more than 208 million children in over 160 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child.
Samaritan’s Purse
This year National Collection Week falls 11-18 November and filled boxes or donated items should be returned to the church before then.
How can you help?
· Please pack a shoebox at home with your personally selected items (if you don’t have a shoebox handy, please take one from the display in the halls or Janeal can provide them) and return it to Janeal during the collection week or
· Collect items for shoe boxes which can be packed for you
· Follow this link for guidance: https://www.samaritans-purse.org.uk/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/how-to-pack-a-shoebox
· Use the online option to ‘pack’ a shoe box: Shoebox Online | Samaritans Purse (samaritans-purse.org.uk)
· Volunteer to help process the boxes in Comber from 25th to 29th November. This is an opportunity for individuals or organisations to really get hands on with the process of preparing boxes for onward transportation. You can book your slot via the online booking system: Volunteer at an Operation Christmas Child Processing Centre | Samaritans Purse (samaritans-purse.org.uk)
We are very grateful to all those who have already got aboard with this.
